KC City Council Stances on RCV

District 1

Kevin O'Neill (At-Large)

 Position: Long-time supporter of ranked choice voting in the current Council. 

Position: Not yet stated a position to us.

District 2

Lindsay French (At-Large)

Position: She has stated to us verbally that she’s a strong supporter of ranked choice voting. 

Position: From an email message: " I have supported rank-choice voting for years going back to the first time I ran for the state legislature in 2018. I still support it and I will support it when I am on the city council." 

District 3 

Position: From an email message:  "I characterize myself as undecided," and asked many thoughtful questions.  

Position: Favors ranked choice voting.  

District 4 

Crispin Rea (At-Large)

Position:  Has had an in-depth meeting with us on the issue, but needs time to form a position. 

Position: A strong supporter of ranked choice voting.  

District 5

Darrell Curls (At-Large)

Position: From an email: "I'm still doing my research. But at this time I would not be in favor."

Position: from an email:"The thousands of signatures Better Ballot KC has collected tells me this needs to get on the ballot. I would be happy to work with Better Ballot KC to ensure RCV gets on the ballot for voters to decide."
